When I came to Canada as a permanent resident in 2013, I arrived with hope, ambition, and a dream of continuing my profession as a dentist.

But like many newcomers, reality looked different from the dream.

Adjusting to a new country was not easy. The cost of upgrading my profession was overwhelming, and with a tight budget, pursuing dentistry in Canada felt out of reach. To support my family, I worked full-time as a Certified Dental Assistant and accepted on-call shifts during my days off just to earn extra income.

Deep inside, I knew I was capable of more.

I loved healthcare and serving people, but I also knew I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life feeling financially limited or forced to put my dreams aside because of circumstances.

At one point, I considered pursuing Dental Hygiene because I believed it would provide better opportunities financially and professionally.
